30 November: Two Social Media Webcasts To Catch

Next week sees two interesting, free webcasts that will help businesses understand how social networks can add value.

The first is hosted by well known blogger and FIR podcast contributor Dan York who will look at how to scale support for Twitter, Facebook and other social networks.

By 2014, Gartner Research estimates that social networking services will replace email as the primary communications vehicle for 20% of business users. As companies connect to customers in social channels, a key question is – how can that communication scale? If team members are monitoring Twitter, what happens when they go home? As an organisation successfully interacts with people on Twitter, how can growth be handled?

Dan York also boasts the title Director of Conversations for a company called Voxeo. In this free webcast, he will explain how Voxeo’s tools and platforms can help scale usage of social channels. Participants will learn how to monitor a Twitter account and take action on incoming messages or mentions. They will see how to send urgent notifications via SMS or voice-based on certain keywords that appear in tweets, and will learn how to craft appropriate automatic responses based on tweet content.

Dan will also explain how an automated app can assist in monitoring a Twitter account and in collecting information to provide a response. And, participants will see how all the social interaction can be tied into analytics and applications used for other interaction channels like voice, SMS, IM, and mobile web.

The webinar takes place 30 November, 16.00 GMT. Click here to register.

A second seminar takes place later the same day. This one, features LinkedIn Recruiter, a corporate solution from the ‘business’ social network that helps organisations find and hire top talent by providing access to its entire global network of more than 80 million professionals.

The session includes a demo of LinkedIn Recruiter, designed to help companies better leverage LinkedIn to acquire top talent using the best available search and messaging tools. It takes place 30 November, 19.00 GMT. Click here to register.
