Analyse Energy Use And Datacentre Management
As Shaun Nichols points out in his article ‘Analysts glum on datacentre management’ efficient management of enterprise datacentres has never been more important.
With increasing energy consumption, rising data demands and reduced IT budgets following the recession, reassessing the infrastructure of your company and making the best possible use of management tools is higher on the radar for all business leaders.
Rather than adding new hardware, perhaps companies should ensure they first consolidate datacentres and make better use of systems they already have in place. It is also important to ensure energy monitoring is common place across a whole organisation, and not just focused on the datacentre itself. Taking such steps should help organisations save money as well as reduce carbon emissions.
