With Internet use becoming almost universal and in fact a clear given amongst corporations, many software solutions have been developed to simplify certain tasks that some of us may or may not even be aware of.
Gaining in popularity recently are eLearning solutions, which allow Internet users to access educational content from any computer with an active Internet connection. While many are benefiting in terms of saved time and money from the use of such software, do you see this as a growing trend in years to come for your business – how far will eLearning solutions take us?
First question: Why eLearning?
eLearning solutions do have many advantages. One of them is letting corporations save money, time and productivity. Instead of having to schedule meetings and conferences to convey information to employees, an effective eLearning solution platform allows workers to study the required materials right from their desktops at the comfort of their own office or even home.
It also allows them to ask questions and collaborate with other users as well. This can save a lot of time for companies, as they no longer have to schedule long business meetings to cover important information, such as an upcoming product launch. Users can learn at their own pace, directly from their computers.
Another effective use of an eLearning platform is that you can also use one to train not only your employees, but your clients as well. For example, many companies in the IT industry have put online full courses on how to best use their products. Doing this has increased satisfaction amongst clients, and often results in increased sales.
However it is not only businesses that are discovering the advantages of eLearning solutions. Many courses offered by educational institutions are also available online, so students can learn whenever they have time available. This allows them to have access to the same educational material available in the classroom, as well as the ability to send questions or assignment material to instructors while simultaneously collaborating with other students.
Can we expect eLearning solutions in our future?
As we witness a number of new trends flourishing on the Web, one might ask what is a fad these days and what is actually history in the making? What will we struggle to remember about the “Interwebs” in 40 years time? And what are we using today as eLearning software that the next generations will be using down the track? Well, whatever the next generations are using, I’m sure it’ll be more advanced than what we can imagine.
What is your opinion on eLearning solutions? Do they have a place in your business today, as well as in a futuristic business world? Let me know how you have benefited from eLearning, was it what you expected and do you intend to continue using this in the future?
