I don’t know about you, but I used to be a huge fan of the Post Office ad which had this as a slogan. So much so, that it has over time been something we often use within the family to share something lovely we have found as a gift, or a piece of information we think the other family member would like.
The great news with social networking is that wwe can do the same thing online. Social Networks give us a great opportunity to keep the other person top of mind and easily share and send information, tips, resources and tools that fit their needs.
Some of the ways you can do this…
- Clip some information and send it via email
- Tag someone on Facebook
- @message someone you know on a tweet or send them a link via Twitter
- Comment on their LinkedIn status update with how you can help them
- Drop them a linen through the LinkedIn inbox
Above all, it is thinking about how you can be useful to the other person. It helps us to build the know, like and trust factor. It shows we care about the business of the other person. And, subtly it encourages them to think about how they may be able to help us. After all, if we all help out each other, isn’t business a much nicer place to be?
