Management headaches force cloud re-think

Two thirds (62%) of enterprises are not adopting cloud computing because infrastructure management is too complex.

According to research, conducted amongst 200 senior IT decision makers, management of the cloud is the number one issue currently preventing mass adoption, indicating a worrying trend that could prevent businesses getting the financial and competitive benefits promised by the cloud.

It’s shocking to see management has been forgotten within cloud solutions. Businesses could see themselves spending thousands of pounds or waste hundreds of man hours if they deploy cloud solutions without considering management.

As well as management creating issues for enterprises, IT decisions makers believe that Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are a concern, with nearly half (48%) admitting that until sufficient guarantees are put in place, they will not fully adopt the cloud.

Without doubt cloud computing is the future for organisations however, there are still many barriers to adoption.

To overcome this, businesses should deploy self-healing, self-learning cloud management systems to effectively control any number of infrastructures, including private, public or hybrid cloud with less down time and improved service levels.

The correct automation tool will also allow IT teams to automatically set a range of resource thresholds, enabling easy and controlled use of the cloud.
